Meet the Coaches

Alexis Kurtz, RN, BSN, RN-BC
Head Cheerleading Coach

Alexis Kurtz is the Head Coach of Widener University Cheerleading. Alexis will be entering her first year in the Head Coach position. This marks her seventh season overall with the Pride. 

During her time as an assistant coach, Kurtz assisted in leading the team to three second place finishes in the Traditional Division as well as two top ten finishes in the Game Day division at UCA College Nationals.  Additionally, she helped obtain Widener’s first MAC Champion title in 2019 in the Traditional and Partner Stunt divisions. The Pride went on to receive these titles again for the traditional division in 2020 and Partner Stunt Division in 2020, 2023 & 2024. 

Kurtz works alongside the assistant coaches during all the season planning, football and basketball games, campus appearances, and events. Kurtz travels with the team to regional and national competitions. She  brings a wealth of coaching and leadership aimed at improving the skills, technique, and confidence of her athletes for them to be able to compete at a national level.  

Prior to serving as an assistant coach, Kurtz was a member of the Widener University Cheerleading team from 2014-2018, serving as captain during the seasons of 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. She graduated from Widener  University in 2018 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and works as a Registered Nurse at Bryn Mawr Hospital. She is currently attending Wilmington University for graduate school to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing Leadership.


Alexandria Marinucci, RN, BSN

Alexandria Marinucci is in her third year as an Assistant Coach for the Widener University Cheerleading team.Alexandria was a four-year member of the team (2015-2019) and served as a captain during the 2018-2019 season. Prior to  cheerleading in college, Alexandria was a part of All-Star and High School cheerleading as an athlete and coach. 

Alexandria graduated from Widener University in 2020 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is currently working as a Registered Nurse at Jefferson Health in Neurosurgery. 

As an assistant coach, Alexandria works alongside the other coaches in assisting with pre-season planning, tryouts/clinics, camp, football and basketball games along with traveling to local and national competitions with the team.
